40th Anniversary Dinner and Program

To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Flat River Historical Society, a special dinner and program is being planned for the night of Saturday, October 18, 2008.  The event will be held at the Greenville Area Community Center , 900 East Kent Road.  The festivities will begin at 6:30 PM with hors d’oeuvres and dinner to follow.  A program is being planned to knock the socks off all history buffs in the community.  We have begun conducting fund raising activities to meet the expenses of bringing a man widely acclaimed as the nation’s best Thomas Jefferson interpreter to Greenville for our evening program.  If our financial goal is met, we plan on providing a Saturday afternoon performance of President Jefferson as well for the students of our community free of charge or at a minimal amount to those who attend.  Anyone interested in contributing to this may contact Jim Wise at 616-754-5840.  Ticket prices have not been set, but tickets should be available for sale by the Summer of 2008.  Seating for the evening event is limited to 225, so act fast as soon as we announce the availability of tickets!
